Job Description
What your new role will entail;
Our growing UK&I Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team is looking for an Associate Director EHS Compliance Consultant to support the development and growth of the EHS compliance business across our existing client base and new clients. The role in particular is to manage the delivery of a broad range of EHS compliance services across many sectors including, but not limited to, Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Water, Alternative Fuels, Hi Tech, Commercial and Energy. The main focus of the role will be on environmental compliance, but health & safety compliance is also a service we wish to develop more and in particular in Ireland.
This role represents a great opportunity to develop your career as a technical project manager, delivering EHS compliance solutions on a diverse range of projects that meet the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
+ Manage : an EHS compliance team in the delivery of a wide range of environmental compliance projects, including compliance EHS auditing and environmental licensing & permitting. Example services include licence applications, licence variations and licence compliance studies such as environmental liability risk assessments and best available techniques studies.
+ Collaborate : with client teams, AECOM teams and project stakeholders to deliver value added and innovative EHS compliance solutions for both large and small and often complex projects.
+ Develop: Undertake line manager duties for a number of staff and support the development of junior members of the team, managing their input to projects and mentoring them.
Being part of the team;
You will be joining a small but growing and diverse team of EHS consultants across the UK and Ireland who are closely networked with a large EHS global team and other AECOM teams. Our projects are incredibly diverse for example supporting global industrial compliance programmes, supporting fast-pace data center site selection, delivering complex permit compliance and application solutions to alternative energy and pharmaceutical projects and providing bespoke client organisation EHS compliance training. Our client base is equally diverse right from public sector clients and regulators through to multi-national industrial and hyper-scale hi tech companies. Much of our work is working collaboratively with internal AECOM engineering services teams who deliver complex sustainable and innovative capital projects.
Our EHS team is often the first client contact on what can turn out to be very complex and multiple AECOM team projects. So you will right from the start be working with the client and AECOM teams through to project completion throughout which EHS compliance consulting will be required.

Qualifications
Here's what we will need from you;
+ A degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.
+ Chartered or Incorporated Status with an appropriate Institution or equivalent.
+ In-depth knowledge of legislative requirement associated with EHS compliance consulting including Industrial Emissions licensing/permitting, general environmental compliance (e.g., client corporate environmental standards compliance).
+ Demonstrable experience managing consultancy support across a range of EHS compliance areas, including EHS compliance consulting and industrial emissions licensing and permitting
+ Ideally, but not essentially, experience in a compliance role within a relevant client sector.
