In this role, you will lead Italy’s country-level public policy and government affairs strategy for the medical technology sector. You’ll act as the senior policy interface, shaping a favorable healthcare environment that supports patient access, innovation, and system resilience. You will engage with policymakers and stakeholders and align national priorities with European frameworks. This is a strategic, executive-facing position in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting with a strong emphasis on collaboration and impact.

Responsibilites

  • Define and lead the country policy and government affairs strategy aligned with sector priorities
  • Monitor legislative and political developments affecting medical technologies and procurement policies
  • Translate policy developments into strategic insights for senior leadership
  • Provide thought leadership on topics like healthcare reform, value-based care, sustainability, and digital health
  • Engage with national and regional policymakers as the primary senior interface
  • Build long-term relationships with policy makers and external stakeholders
  • Represent the sector in high‑impact policy debates and negotiations
  • Lead engagement with trade associations and coalitions
  • Align national positions with European frameworks for a coherent MedTech voice
  • Serve as strategic advisor to country and regional leadership on public policy matters
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Communications, Legal, and Commercial teams
  • Ensure alignment between public policy priorities and broader business and innovation strategies

Key requirements

  • 8+ years of government affairs or relevant experience in Italy
  • Deep knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes and political environment in Italy
  • Ability to engage government stakeholders and build relationships
  • Good understanding of European policy making and Italian trade relationships desirable
  • Experience influencing policy matters in MedTech and/or pharmaceutical/healthcare industries
  • Proven ability to understand business goals and collaborate with leaders to achieve policy outcomes
  • Strong project management and leadership in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Excellent executive presence and communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with ability to translate policy into business impact
