Experteer Overview
As Commercial Manager in Stantec’s Buildings group, you will lead regional commercial activity to secure profitable, sustainable growth. You’ll support and guide the Project Management community, manage bids and major projects, and drive portfolio review and regional commercial strategies. You will ensure robust governance, reporting and revenue recognition, and develop staff capability to deliver strong commercial results across UK regions. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on system adoption and relationship building to enable growth and excellence.
Responsibilites
- Oversee commercial elements of bids and major projects
- Develop competitive commercial proposals aligned with business objectives
- Review project portfolios, monitor performance and escalate issues
- Provide guidance to Project Management teams on commercial risk and delivery challenges
- Develop and refine regional commercial strategies to enable sustainable growth
- Monitor budgets and financial outcomes by region and ensure targets are met
- Promote adoption of project reporting cycles and revenue recognition systems
- Build relationships with Client and Partner Commercial Leads and act as escalation channel for issues
- Support staff development in commercial skills and governance requirements
- Collaborate with Leadership Team to identify improvement opportunities across regions
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in a relevant field (unknown)
- Strong commercial acumen and business analysis skills
- Experience in Buildings/Construction sector and/or consultancy environment
- Knowledge of SOX controls and financial reporting audits desirable
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and reports
- Self-motivated with the initiative to work across all business levels and external partners
