In this Accounting Policy role, you apply IFRS and firm policies to transactions and corporate activities, helping ensure accurate financial reporting and disclosures. You will liaise with business units, regulators, and external auditors, shaping policy for new products and complex transactions. The role sits in Controllers, a core second line of defence focused on control, risk reduction, and reliable financial information. You will receive ongoing training and opportunities to engage with senior team members from day one, contributing to the firm’s financial integrity and transparency.

Responsibilites

Provide technical accounting guidance to business units on existing guidance
Partner with business units to communicate upcoming accounting changes and impacts
Assess new financial reporting developments and liaise with standard setters/regulators
Advise on accounting policy for new products, restructurings, and complex transactions
Research and document technical accounting issues under applicable standards
Train business units and corporate functions on accounting developments and policies
Assist SEC financial reporting and LEC teams with disclosures under GAAP
Collaborate with external auditors on policy-related matters
Contribute to department activities and policy compliance

Key requirements

ACA/ACCA qualification
Big 4 accounting experience preferred
5+ years post-qualification experience in financial services/financial instruments accounting
Solid knowledge of IFRS; experience with US GAAP or multi-GAAP desirable
Strong project management; proven ability to work independently and in teams
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-divisional collaboration
