In this role you will independently own portions of electrical design from concept to construction, contributing to calculations, documentation, and cross-disciplinary coordination. You will act as a technical contributor and budding mentor within a collaborative team that values growth, integrity, and continuous learning. Responsibilites
- Lead design development and electrical calculations for assigned systems across schematic, DD, and construction documents
- Perform lighting and power load calculations, feeder sizing, short circuit studies, and NEC compliance checks with minimal input
- Prepare technical documentation including system descriptions, Division 26 specs, equipment schedules, and redlines
- Develop and review electrical layouts in Revit (power, lighting, fire alarm, single-line diagrams) in coordination with architectural/structural teams
- Coordinate electrical design with internal disciplines and external consultants to resolve conflicts
- Review/respond to electrical RFIs and submittals with support from senior engineers
- Perform field verification, assist with punch walks, and participate in construction observation
- Engage in project design strategy discussions and provide technical input to electrical leads
- Participate in QAQC and peer reviews for code compliance and drafting consistency
- Mentor electrical designers and interns on software use, modeling, and calculation basics
- Participate in project meetings, assist with agendas, minutes, and electrical scope follow-up
- Track and manage hours on electrical work and support scope/resource planning
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- P.E. licensure
- 5+ years in the AEC industry
- Experience developing electrical solutions for crime labs, medical examiner labs, and similar facilities
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Revit experience
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and email
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, flexible, and collaborative
