In this role you will drive functional safety across safety-critical ASIC development, from concept to production, ensuring IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 compliance. You will define safety concepts, implement measures like redundancy and diagnostics, and perform risk analyses in collaboration with architecture, design, verification and qualification teams. You will document safety activities, train engineers, and interact with customers and certification bodies to shape compliant, high-reliability products.

Responsibilites
- Develop and manage safety concepts and translate them into technical safety requirements
- Define safety measures based on SIL level (redundancy, diagnostics, monitoring, fault detection, safe states, fault injection)
- Perform FMEDA, DFA and FMEA analyses and review architectures from a functional safety perspective
- Review verification approaches and prepare safety-related documentation including safety manuals
- Train design engineers on functional safety topics
- Act as interface for functional safety with architecture, design, verification, validation and qualification teams
- Interact with customers, external assessors and certification bodies; contribute to process improvements and safety standard compliance
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
- At least five years of ASIC development experience in industrial, automotive or high-reliability environments
- Direct experience with functional safety lifecycle per IEC 61508 and/or ISO 26262
- Familiarity with FMEDA and hardware safety analyses
- Understanding of hardware safety mechanisms (diagnostics, redundancy, error detection, monitoring, safe states)
- Experience with EDA tools; Polarion is an advantage
- Analytical, detail-oriented with cross-disciplinary collaboration and strong documentation skills
