In this role you shape the long-term vision and roadmap for the portfolio of electrical, electronic, sensor, motor, and drive technologies. You lead a global competence center, drive standardization and design guidelines, and ensure strong cross-location collaboration. You will manage budgets, resources, and governance while fostering high technical performance and robust product development. This position offers international exposure and a meaningful impact on product strategy and reliability.

Responsibilites
- Define and steer the long-term vision and roadmap for the full portfolio of electrical, electronic, sensors, motors and drives
- Lead global project funnel development, including solution concepts, standardization initiatives, and design guidelines
- Identify, appoint and manage Competence Center domain experts worldwide
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to Competence Center leaders across locations
- Facilitate regular alignment meetings to support innovation, collaboration, and issue resolution
- Lead Competence Center engineers in Winterthur, including disciplinary leadership and annual performance reviews
- Encourage competency development and ensure high technical performance across teams
- Develop, manage and optimize annual budgets for the Competence Center
- Oversee resource planning for all locations ensuring optimal allocation of personnel and expertise
- Ensure compliance with design guidelines, standard components and standardized processes in running projects
- Collaborate with category managers to support supplier strategies, standardization and technology harmonization
- Ensure robustness and reliability (FMEA, root cause analysis, lessons learned, field feedback loop)
Key requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in embedded systems, drive systems, electronics, electric or sensor technologies for industrial applications
- Leadership track record (direct and matrix/remote) in an international setup
- Experience with standardization, global project management, and supplier ecosystem management
- Strong communication, decision-making and cross-functional alignment skills
- Experience in budget management and strategic planning
- Fluent in English and German
