In this role you lead the end-to-end SOX (ICFR) testing program across processes, partnering with process owners and external auditors. You will scope, test, and validate controls, driving remediation and evidence quality in a hybrid on-site setting in Boston. You’ll mentor junior testers and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to strengthen the control environment. Your work directly supports accurate reporting, risk mitigation, and sustainable improvements. This role offers the chance to shape the SOX program at a consumer goods company with broad impact.

Responsibilites
- Lead end-to-end SOX execution: scoping, walkthroughs, control design assessment, test strategy, execution, and conclusions on design and operating effectiveness
- Draft concise findings and recommendations with severity assessments and remediation plans
- Support remediation validation and track deficiencies to ensure timely closure
- Serve as primary daily interface with external auditors for owned cycles
- Manage PBC requests and testing logistics with process owners
- Partner with process owners to enhance control design and monitoring
- Leverage data analytics to improve efficiency and coverage; contribute to methodology improvements
- Coordinate day-to-day activities of junior testers/co-sourced resources during testing sprints
- Maintain independence and build relationships across Accounting, Finance, Operations, and IT
- Assist with fieldwork and documentation for occasional operational audits
- Contribute to periodic SOX status reporting for management review
Key requirements
- 5 to 8 years of public accounting/auditing or internal audit at a publicly traded company
- Experience in COSO 2013, information technology, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient in Microsoft Office and enterprise accounting systems
