In this Lab Engineer Automation role you design, develop, and enhance automated testing environments for cutting-edge R&D projects. You will build and refine PLC-based control systems aligned with product roadmaps, delivering reliable, high-quality solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You’ll program TwinCAT/Beckhoff PLCs using Structured Text, integrate sensors and I/O, and support verification, validation, and product commissioning. Responsibilites

Design, develop, and improve automated testing environments for R&D projects
Develop and enhance PLC-based control systems aligned with roadmaps
Program PLCs using TwinCAT/Beckhoff and Structured Text (ST)
Integrate sensors, actuators, I/O modules, and communication interfaces
Perform verification and validation testing to standards
Maintain technical documentation across project phases
Provide technical support during product commissioning and second-level customer support

Key requirements

Automation Technician (EFZ) or equivalent
5+ years hands-on experience with TwinCAT (Beckhoff) using ST
Proven expertise in PLC-based control systems development and integration
Familiarity with electrical circuit diagrams and hardware design
Experience with verification and validation testing in an engineering environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive and structured approach
Fluent in English; German and customer commissioning experience are advantageous
