In this role you will lead Agilent’s labour relations agenda in Germany and serve as the main HR liaison to the Works Council across key sites. You will anchor the German LR operating model, balancing compliance with business enablement within Agilent’s global framework. You’ll engage directly with WC bodies, manage agreements and litigations, and partner with HR CoEs and the Country Management Team. The position offers scope to influence Germany’s HR transition and contribute to broader European labour relations activities. This role suits a seasoned professional who shapes compliant, constructive, cross-functional collaboration in a multinational setting.

Responsibilites
- Act as the primary contact for three Works Council bodies and the Economic Committee on HR matters
- Coordinate personnel measures submissions for WC review and organizational changes
- Review, renegotiate, and implement Betriebsvereinbarungen including communications and training
- Manage WC-related litigations with internal and external counsel
- Oversee WC operational budget and training/supplies
- Provide quarterly WC statistics and election-related reporting
- Partner with Total Rewards CoE on salary reviews and job family introductions
- Represent HR at site WC townhalls and Group WC meetings with Country Management Team
- Escalation point for ad hoc WC requests and mediation between project leads and WC
- Own and foster collaboration with the Works Council and related committees
- Advise HRBPs on compliance and WC implications for planned initiatives
- Coordinate with HR CoEs and HRSS to ensure German legal/WC alignment
- Support employee litigations and represent management in court when needed
- Lead Germany HR transition projects to ensure compliance-by-design
- Update contract templates to reflect German/EU law changes
- Maintain oversight of labour law changes and update frameworks across regions
- Contribute to European labour relations activities beyond Germany
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in HR, Law, Business, Industrial/Labour Relations, or related field
- 8+ years of HR/ER/LR experience in Germany with Works Council engagement
- Solid understanding of German labour law including BetrVG and WC agreements
- Proven experience negotiating with Works Councils, handling WC litigations, and representing management in court
- Fluency in German (C2/native) and strong English
- Onsite availability in Waldbronn at least 3 days/week and occasional travel to Mainz or other sites
