In this Payroll Specialist role, you ensure accurate, compliant payroll across multiple entities in an international setting. You collaborate with HRSC, Tax, Finance, and HR peers to shape payroll services and drive end-to-end processes. You will focus on compliance, continuous improvement, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver reliable payroll outcomes. The position offers exposure to global mobility coordination, audits (SOX), and cross-functional initiatives within a premier biopharmaceutical environment.

Responsibilites

  • Deliver timely and accurate payroll for multiple entities in compliance with local laws
  • Input payroll data into databases and spreadsheets
  • Monitor personnel and salary changes
  • Process expats and commuters with Global Mobility and external providers
  • Manage payroll controls for SOX and audits
  • Compile necessary approvals for bank payments
  • Contribute to payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Respond to internal and external payroll inquiries (social insurance, taxation)
  • Standardize and improve Payroll & Benefits Administration processes across sites
  • Collaborate with EMEA HR Service Delivery, HR Business Partners, and Centers of Excellence
  • Support peers with payroll systems documentation and process optimization
  • Participate in projects and working groups
  • Assist in payroll reporting (earnings statements, tax reports) and distribute reports to stakeholders
  • Engage in continuous learning on payroll best practices and technology

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or another relevant Payroll qualification; in lieu of a degree
  • At least 3 years of experience in a multinational business environment with focus on payroll for multiple entities
  • Experience with outsourced payroll providers (ADP, Celergo) and HR systems (Workday, SAP)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity
  • Experience working in international teams and collaborating across organization levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; fluent in English; German desired
