In this role you will lead the commercial strategy and drive revenue growth for selling to the new house builder market, including direct and distribution channels. You will manage a small field-based sales team and an estimating/preconstruction function, collaborating with operations, marketing and finance to deliver margin and customer satisfaction. You’ll shape market strategy, build key partnerships, and translate market insights into growth initiatives. This is a high-impact role in a UK-based, sector-focused organisation with a clear leadership mandate. You will drive cross-functional alignment and contribute to expanding market leadership in residential and social housing channels.

Responsibilites

  • Lead, develop and implement a market-specific sales strategy for national, regional, and local house builders; set targets and monitor via KPIs
  • Manage and mentor field sales reps; oversee performance reviews, account planning, and recruitment
  • Oversee estimating/preconstruction team; ensure timely, accurate quotations and margin-aligned quotes
  • Drive new business while expanding share with existing accounts; negotiate strategic contracts and partnerships
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and materials for distributor/building merchants
  • Coordinate with operations and supply chain for capacity, product availability and service excellence
  • Provide forecasting and pipeline updates to senior leadership; manage departmental budget and CRM practices

Key requirements

  • 5-8+ years of progressive sales experience including 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record selling to the new home builder / social housing market
  • Experience managing both sales teams and estimating/preconstruction functions
  • Strong track record of revenue growth, margin management, and strategic account development
  • Deep understanding of builder procurement, tendering cycles, and project timelines
  • Skilled in negotiation, pricing strategy, and contract management
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales analytics tools
  • South Staffordshire based with regular UK travel
