In this role you drive strategic direction and leadership to meet sales and profit goals across multiple locations or a large unit with significant revenue. You’ll shape sales and marketing programs, set short and long-term sales plans, and lead a team of managers. You will partner with marketing and other departments to align programs, forecast performance, and optimize customer outcomes. This position offers impact through cross-functional coordination, market insight, and active staff development, within a dynamic sales organization.
Responsibilites
- Develop and administer sales plans to meet quotas, maintain customer satisfaction, and develop a skilled staff
- Collaborate with marketing to design and implement sales and marketing programs
- Forecast annual sales and gross profit, and set territory quotas
- Project sales volume and profit for existing and new products and customers
- Monitor market dynamics (supply/demand, trends, competition) to adjust pricing and product mix
- Coordinate order service by guiding account teams on quotations, proposals, and order management
- Recruit, train, and coach sales staff; manage performance and development
- Build and maintain relationships with top customers
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and industry engagement
- Communicate complex sales details to senior management
- Work with internal support and suppliers to ensure positive customer experience and execute programs
- Partner with internal departments to address inventory and operations issues
Key requirements
- 3+ years managing a sales team and sales programs
- 5+ years professional sales experience in related industry
- 5 years managing staff and programs at national, district or regional level preferred
- 7 years related industry professional sales preferred
- Working knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people/assets
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, persuasion, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Experience interfacing with multiple departments to resolve customer issues
