Senior Specialist / Project Manager

In this role, you lead design, project management, and construction management efforts for hospital renovations and new builds. You will guide in-house and external teams, shaping budgets, schedules, and approvals to ensure timely, compliant delivery. The position sits at the facilities design and construction department, partnering with stakeholders to drive safe, functional, and compliant healthcare environments. You will influence project outcomes through governance, bidding, and equipment procurement, contributing to the organization’s modernization goals.

Responsibilites

  • Oversee design, project management, and construction management consultants for renovations and new construction
  • Lead in-house renovation and new construction projects, developing early budgets and project schedules
  • Direct team in obtaining governmental approvals and managing regulatory compliance
  • Conduct competitive bidding processes
  • Coordinate procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)

Key requirements

  • 10+ years of continuous related project management experience with single project values exceeding $10M
  • Healthcare-related experience preferred
  • 5–10 years of project management or construction experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business, or Construction Management
  • Architecture or Engineering license not required; advanced or business degree preferred
  • Experience in all phases of project delivery including finances, insurance, contracts, and commercial terms
  • Knowledge of Interim life safety measures, NJDOH, ADA, ICRA, DCA, Facilities Guidelines, TJC Environment of Care Standards, OSHA
  • Strong interpersonal and computer skills, including Revit and AutoCAD; proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
