In this role you lead the end-to-end production test strategy for complex medical devices, spanning PCBAs to final HLAs, across overseas contract manufacturers. You define requirements, ensure regulatory and safety coverage, and shape scalable test frameworks. You collaborate with Systems, Design, Firmware, Quality, and Manufacturing to ensure robust, compliant solutions and act as a technical escalation point for root-cause analysis. This role offers impact by guiding test architecture and driving improvements across the supply chain.

Responsibilites

Define end-to-end production test strategy for medical devices (PCBAs, sub-assemblies, HLAs)
Author test requirements and specifications for CM implementation
Establish test coverage aligned with risk (ISO 14971), design intent, and regulatory requirements
Drive decisions on test partitioning (what, where, when, and why)
Balance test coverage, cost, cycle time, and scalability for high-volume manufacturing
Define standardized test architectures and frameworks (fixtures, probes, golden units, loopback, Python/LabVIEW, automation)
Ensure test designs support regulatory compliance, field reliability, post-market investigations and CAPAs
Serve as technical authority for production test across overseas CMs; review CM concepts and guide execution
Participate in DFM/DFT reviews and NPI readiness assessments
Escalate for deep technical triage on yield issues; drive corrective actions with Sustaining Engineering, Quality, and Systems

Key requirements

10–12+ years of experience in Hardware test engineering, manufacturing test or NPI for high-volume/regulated products (medical, aerospace, automotive)
Strong understanding of mixed-signal PCBAs, embedded systems, and system-level test challenges
Proven experience defining production test strategies (not just executing tests)
Deep knowledge of ICT, functional test, boundary scan, calibration, and parametric testing
Familiarity with Python-based test frameworks and LabVIEW; data analytics for test
Experience working with overseas contract manufacturers in Asia or Mexico
Ability to operate across time zones and cultures; technical authority without direct line management
