Experteer Overview

As VP of Business Development, you lead new business origination across targeted markets, owning targets and managing C-level relationships to win and grow marketing activation programs. You’ll develop the pipeline, negotiate deals, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to close complex opportunities and guide delivery. You act as a trusted advisor to top prospects and drive scalable, multi-channel activation initiatives aligned with the company’s mission. This role offers impact through shaping strategic partnerships and large-scale programs.

Responsibilites

  • Lead full sales lifecycle for marketing activation and experiential programs, from qualification to close and transition to delivery
  • Develop differentiated value propositions integrating creative design, digital tech, logistics, data-driven measurement, and seamless execution across channels
  • Facilitate discovery, workshops, and co-creation with client stakeholders to identify unmet needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce scalable proposals
  • Define and negotiate contracts and drive internal approvals (MSAs, SOWs, risk sharing)
  • Drive pilot/proof-of-concept activations as a precursor to regional scaling
  • Maintain thought leadership in activation trends, merchandising tech, smart displays, shopper behavior, and materials R&D

Key requirements

  • Significant business development/sales experience in marketing services and tech-enabled marketing activation
  • Proven track record closing complex, multi-market, multi-channel activation deals
  • Strong financial and commercial skills
  • Excellent client-facing skills: workshop facilitation, C-level engagement, needs translation, influencing decision criteria
  • Deep domain knowledge in marketing activation across physical/experiential channels and digital measurement
  • Ability to orchestrate multi-disciplinary teams to converge on proposals
  • Experience with sustainability, materials innovation, lifecycle cost, and carbon/emissions tracking
  • Familiarity with digital augmentation in physical spaces (AR/VR, IoT-enabled POS, real-time content refresh)
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate physical deployment risks
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, negotiation, and influencing skills
  • Experience in global/regional rollouts, supply chain complexity, multi-supplier sourcing, field compliance
  • Experience in large-scale RFPs, competitive pitch leadership, capture planning, and bid defense
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
