Our client is a renowned Japanese manufacturer of industrial pumps. Their target industries include chemical, oil & gas, automotive manufacturing, shipyard, printing, mining and semiconductors. The company is currently expanding its sales activities in Europe – with a focus on the DACH region, particularly Germany.

The position holder reports to the Managing Director & Senior Sales Manager Europe

Team work:
Close cooperation with 3 other regional sales managers

Business Travel:
within DACH region and the Netherlands – frequency depending on project status

Objectives/ Tasks/ Responsibilities

The objective for this position is to increase sales of industrial pumps in the DACH region among other regions in Europe. The main tasks and priorities are:

Support of existing customers:

  • Manage key account customers (= distributors) in the DACH region
  • Identify customer needs and develop customized solutions
  • Develop sales / marketing plans to increase sales
  • Coordinate activities with Managing Director and HQ in Japan
  • Acquire new customers
  • Develop distribution of the company’s “private brand” with an increased focus on distributors in DACH, particularly in the chemical industry – ranging from petrochemical through to fine chemicals


Qualification

Educational achievements:
University degree or equivalent vocational training. A technical background would be welcome, but is not required

Professional experience:
Experience in the sales of pumps or related equipment such as valve etc. – fluid components. Sales experience at a manufacturer or a trading company for these products would be welcome.

Special Experience / Knowledge:
Ability to acquire new customers and cultivate distribution network.
International sales experience would be considered an asset, particularly experience working at a Japanese company.

Languages:

  • German: business fluent
  • English: business fluent

The final amount of the annual salary depends on the experience and background of the candidate.

The European Headquarter is located in the Netherlands. The position holder can work from home in Germany – ideally located in North Rhine-Westphalia or near the Netherlands.
