We are seeking an experienced Liaison Engineer to be part of a team that produces leading edge network probing platforms that protect our customer's networks. As a member of our Platform Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability of our high-end probing platforms. The Liaison Engineer assists the Manufacturing team in specifying Vendor requirements, defining Manufacturing processes and procedures, and validating production tests to ensure outstanding quality. This position oversees new product introduction and also supports existing products throughout their life cycle. You will be responsible for evaluating customer tickets, analyzing failure trends, and proposing product or process improvements. The Platform team supports multiple business units, so you will be involved in concurrent projects with different business owners.
Responsibilities include:
* Design engineer responsible for production support. This position serves as the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing.
* Work with Vendors to develop prototypes that can be transitioned to volume production.
* Work with Manufacturing team to transition prototypes into cost efficient and volume production.
* Enhance communication between Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
* Develop product test plans for mass production and exceptional test coverage.
* Oversee prototype submission to external labs for regulatory testing.
* Oversee component life cycle management for long-life platforms.
* Manage change orders and process deviations to resolve technical issues and implement continuous improvement.
* Analyze and recommend improvements to processes to facilitate cost reduction and quality improvement.
* Analyze field return data for trends, make data actionable.
* Act as a liaison between Vendors, Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve product issues.
* Participate in quarterly business reviews, roadmap discussions, and coordinate quality improvement with vendors.
Required Skills
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
* 5+ years successfully working with high-performance servers.
* Significant hands-on technical/analytical work experience relevant to this position.
* Knowledge and ability to use test equipment and tools.
* Knowledge of Linux operating system.
* Experience with Linux structured scripting languages and shell scripting.
* Ability to create requirements documents for products, processes, and validation. Ability to translate testing coverage to product reliability.
* Ability to create quality documents that logically derive actions and insights from validation and field data analysis.
